The hinged geometry of Reader & Footstool prompted The New York Times to highlight our “laser attention to detail.” Hardy Guild Saddle leather is combined with solid wood and custom brass fittings in the form of a square walnut with cut edges and a built-in washer. The back cushion has a shape that cultivates an ideal head position for reading. Sharing the muscular anatomy of our archetypal Axis series, expressing our shape language with open grooves, beveled edges, subtracted notches and hooves. <br/><br/> Handcrafted from a range of branded and distinctive hardwoods and alloys with our Roman and Williams Guild Living finishes and Guild leathers. <br/><br/> Original design by Stephen Alesha and Robin Stondefer Roman and Williams Guild.
